The LAN allows users to transmit data, voice, mail, and images across the network to any destination, whether that destination is in the local office on the LAN, or in another country or continent, through a connecting network. At the heart of these systems is often a local area network (LAN). Types of functions integrated by office automation systems include (1) electronic publishing (2) electronic communication (3) electronic collaboration (4) image processing and (5) office management. In addition, functions that once required coordinating the expertise of outside specialists in typesetting, printing, or electronic recording can now be integrated into the everyday work of an organization, saving both time and money. A variety of office automation systems are now applied to business and communication functions that used to be performed manually or in multiple locations of a company, such as preparing written communications and strategic planning. His research work is mainly focused on On Orbit Servicing (OOS) and Space Automation, while his interests are Design and Control of Mechatronics Systems, Space Automation & Robotics, Space Technology, Impact Mechanics and Systems Engineering.Office automation systems (OAS) are configurations of networked computer hardware and software. He has published various research papers in international journal publications and conferences and worked in various projects for the European Space Agency (ESA) and the EC (H2020, CleanSky, Erasmus+) as well as for national funding schemes.

He has worked in the past as a Scientific Advisor in Corallia Clusters Initiative, at the Hellenic Space Technologies and Applications Cluster (si-cluster). He is Research Associate/ Senior Researcher at the Microlab, ECE, NTUA and at the CSL, Mech. in Automation Systems and Ph.D in ME, all from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), in 2005, 20 respectively. He received his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (ME), M.Sc. Paraskevas works in the area of Robotics and Automation, Mechatronics and Product Design since 2003, with specialization in Space Robotics and Space Technology.
